Education

I have a PhD in Classics from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland (2018), focusing on Greek and Latin poetry. My thesis was on fiction and the experience of reading. My examiners passed my dissertation with no corrections, which is the highest possible result. I also hold an MA from Oxford (2012, Balliol College) and a BA from King's College London, (2011), both also in Classics. I received a 'First' for the BA and a 'Pass' for the MA.

Experience

I love teaching and helping students connect with the things that inspire them in their subjects. I have tutored a number of students from middle school to high school in Latin, English, and general study skills. I also have formal teaching experience at the university level (Latin and Greek language and literature). I am also qualified to teach English as a second language, which I have taught both in classrooms and one-on-one.

Hobbies

Besides ancient poetry, my interests include playing bass guitar, tabletop games, and classic cinema. I like getting into heated discussions about anything related to these things. I'm also interested in travel and languages; I lived in the UK and Ireland for many years, and I'm working on my German, Spanish, and Italian.
