Experience

I love to write and I love helping students learn how they can become better writers too! Becoming a confident writer is possible and something that will help you in all your endeavors, whether you are college-bound or looking to increase your prospects in the job market. Since 2010, I have worked as an independent college counselor and tutor consulting with students from public and independent high schools, both locally and nationally, helping them brainstorm and craft personal and supplemental college essays. I also have extensive experience reviewing in-progress essays and know what college admissions offices are looking for in application essays and can offer comprehensive help to complete all components of a college application. ***Ask about my special package prices for college essay tutoring and applications help!*** I'm familiar with current college application trends and methodologies including the Common App and College Board requirements, Early Action and Early Decision restrictions, Arts Supplement, NCAA requirements and Financial Aid strategies. Visit my website at www.collegeessaycoaching.wordpress.com I'm taught classes in Visual Communications, Professional Development and Resume Writing at the college level at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle as an Adjunct Instructor (1991–1995; 2007-2009) I also volunteer as a writing tutor at 826 Seattle, a nonprofit writing and tutoring center, helping elementary and high school students mostly from the Seattle Public Schools with writing projects in their after-school program. I'm also happy to work with students one-on-one or in study groups on a regular basis as they prepare for their Reading and Writing SATs or ACTs.

Hobbies

When I'm not tutoring or working on professional writing for public information and interpretive clients, I write fiction books for middle grade readers. I've studied the Italian language for years and am determined to be fluent one day! I love walking, cooking, swimming and animals, especially cats. And yes, I love to read, especially in a cozy place with a cup of hot coffee or tea.
