Experience
I have a long track-record (nearly ten years!) of working with students at a variety of age-ranges, from the elementary level to adult continuing education. Subjects I've taught include History, Social and International Studies, and Japanese language. I use personalized lesson plans to keep the material covered relevant to the interests of the student; by engaging them with their interests as relevant to the topic at hand, I make sure information is retained rather than simply memorized and discarded when it is no longer immediately useful. I enjoy teaching, and helping students understand that learning isn't just necessary; it's actually enjoyable when done right!
