Experience

My SAT test score was a 1920 (superscore): Math 600, Reading 660, Writing 660 I have 5 younger siblings (one has ADHD, one has Down Syndrome), and I have 8 years of child care and nannying experience within and outside my own family, so I have a lot of experience caring for and teaching kids of all ages. In high school and in college (at George Fox University), I received special recognition for pieces of my writing, and I am currently in the process of trying to get several if my pieces published. While I was at George Fox University, I tutored my friend, a Japanese exchange student, in better English writing, grammar and pronunciation (duration: about 2 months). While I was at Bellevue College, I tutored: another Japanese exchange student to improve his English writing, grammar and pronunciation (duration: over a year, and still a current student); two Chinese students in the same disciplines (durations: one month and two months); a high school freshman in Algebra (duration: two months); and two other college students for help with a single assignment each. I am also currently an employee of Applerouth Tutoring Services, so please request me on the Applerouth website if you are interested in SAT or ACT tutoring from me, and feel free to ask me any questions you may have! I want to be a tutor because I simply love teaching - I love helping someone (whether it be a child or teen or adult) improve a skill, no matter if it's academic or not. I am majoring in English and Japanese so that someday I can write professionally while teaching English in Japan. As a result, I welcome every opportunity I get to practice my teaching skills and get more experience, no matter what I'm teaching!

Hobbies

I do a lot of creative writing in my spare time (poetry and fictional prose), but I also love to read and listen to music, and I have amateur interests in photography, singing and makeup artistry! I played volleyball all through high school, and I still play when I get the chance. I am also an avid student of the Japanese language, so that has become a big area of interest for me as well.
