I graduated from Fordham University in New York City in 2008 with a BA in English and a minor in Latin American and Latino Studies.
Experience
I currently work full time as a high school tutor at Federal Way High School. I've been working there since September of 2013 as an AmeriCorps member and I really enjoy it! I work with grades 9-12 in all core subjects. My previous job was at Jubilee Women's Center, a housing program for homeless women, where I worked as a Volunteer Coordinator and Development Coordinator for 3 years.

Hobbies
I'm originally from Seattle (Garfield High School alumn) but lived in New York City for four years during college. I also studied abroad in Egypt for a semester in 2007 which was an incredible learning experience. During college I was involved with an international community service program on campus and a club centered around feminism and gender equity. I moved home in 2008 because I missed the northwest and wanted to be closer to my family. My parents still live in the area and I have a younger sister who is currently a junior at WSU. I'm planning on getting a Master's in Teaching and becoming a teacher in the Seattle area. I get energy from working with teenagers and love working alongside them as they figure out challenging material. One of my favorite things to do outside of my job is dance. I'm currently taking ballet (which I love!) and have also taken modern, hip hop, salsa, and all sorts of things. In my spare time I also love to read and to cook!
