Experience
I attended the University of Texas in Austin, where I received a degree in biology. I specialized in marine biology and molecular biology. I currently attend Oregon State University, where I am working on my master's degree in zoology and marine genomics. I have a year of experience teaching in the biology laboratory at Oregon State University.Even as a high school student, I organized study sessions and tutored my classmates. What I love more about tutoring is being able to connect with students individually, or in a small group setting. Aside from working in the biology lab, I have tutored French, my first language, and other science subjects. Still, biology is my most enjoyable subject to teach. I am enthralled in how life works and how life forms have been able to adapt to their surroundings.Rather than teach directly from a textbook, I prefer to teach by simplifying difficult concepts and presenting them in such a manner that students can visualize. It is essential to present the material in such a way that the students can relate to it by using their current knowledge. This is true for any subject, whether it be biology or mathematics. It is also true that every student is capable of learning if he or she is taught properly.
