Experience
I'm from Bellevue, Washington. I graduated from USC with a BA in Psychology. I minored in natural sciences and nutrition. I was pre-med. I have always believed in service. While still an undergrad I joined the Global Medical Brigades and help to build medical clinics in the poorer sections of Honduras. It's there I discovered my passion for learning. I found that learning the foundation to succeeding in life and I would like to help everyone I can to succeed. In Los Angeles I worked with City Year as a coach, a teacher, and a mentor. When I teach I strive to communicate my passion for learning to my students, as well as show them how fun education can be. I have tricks like acronyms and stories to aid students in remembering the things they are learning.I am able to tutor in math from elementary math up through algebra 1. I also teach science subjects such as biology, organic chemistry, and nutrition. I'm proficient enough to teach Spanish 1-2, and also teach English, reading, writing, and study skills. In addition, I am able to assist in standardized test prep for the ISEE, PSAT, SSAT, SAT, and ACT.
