Experience
I have several years of experience teaching and tutoring. For starters, I have worked with several well known educational programs. These programs range from assisting home schooled children to assisting high school children. I also have put my time into working with enrichment programs. I have been a substitute teacher for approximately three years and tutor ESL students in my spare time. I help my ESL students with essays, public speaking, and writing. As for my teaching style, I try not to focus on where a student's level should be. Instead, I focus on where the student currently is. Whether the student is above average or below average shouldn't matter. The main focus should be on getting the student where he or she wants to be in the future. You will find that I am patient and compassionate with my students. I can help them overcome public speaking fears or simply help them discover their own creative writing process. I graduated cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.A. in Lit. I also minored in theater. Following my graduation from college, I went forward and obtained my Teaching Certification in Secondary English from St. Vincent College. When I am not tutoring or teaching, I am passionate about football and collecting comic books. I also have published a number of stories in the speculative fiction genre.
