Hobbies

As a true Northwester I embrace the rain and enjoy hiking, bicycling, snowshoeing, canoeing, and any activity that involves appreciating the wonders of the natural world. I was born a horse enthusiast and whenever possible I will spend time riding and communing with these magnificent creatures. If no horse is to be had, I am always pleased to have the company of a cat or two. I have favorite dog friend too! Books have been my life-long companions. I like reading non-fiction concerning social and economic development and ecology. One of my all-time favorite activities is learning to play traditional American songs on the guitar with friends and eating homegrown meals from the garden.
