Experience
4 years experience teaching intensive ESL/TOEFL prep in Washington DC, from 2011 - June 2015 5 years experience teaching English and TOEIC prep in Tokyo, Japan I have extensive experience working both as a large classroom instructor and as a private tutor. Through my years of teaching, I have succeeded in helping students understand complex material where many other instructors have failed. My teaching method varies greatly on my audience; I am the opposite of a "one size fits all" instructor. Different people respond in varying ways to certain teaching methods; I determine the most effective way for my student (s) and teach accordingly. I have lived in Paris, France between the ages of 11 and 16, and speak fluent French I lived and worked in Tokyo, Japan for 5 years; I can speak, read and write Japanese. My acquisition of the Japanese language has made me a far more effective language teacher.
