Experience
I love to help my students learn; it's a pleasure seeing my student's progress through each session. As a tutor, I do everything I can to make learning enjoyable. I believe in teaching through small groups and one-on-one sessions, since I feel that students benefit more from learning this way. I believe independence is critical to learning, and I try to teach certain concepts versus memorizing the answer to questions. I believe students are more likely to succeed when learning broad concepts rather than specific questions. I trained for a year and a half, and been teaching for math at the high school level for two years. I am available to tutor students in pre-algebra, algebra 1-4, precalculus, calculus 1, geometry, elementary math, middle school math, statistics, trigonometry, and finite mathematics. I also am able to help with test prep, including the SAT, ACT, ASPIRE, and ACCUPLACER college-level math.I graduated twice from the University of Washington. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, and then my master's degree in teaching secondary education. When I'm not teaching students, I love music, including producing and performing electronic music. I also enjoy going to live concerts. Aside from music, I love cats and Seattle culture.
