Education

I am a 2nd Year Student at Seattle Pacific University where I am double majoring in Ecology & Global Development. I aspire to be a future science and social studies high school teacher in a low-income, high needs area. My current GPA is 3.85, and my high school GPA was 4.0. Half of my education is paid for through scholarships that I applied to, giving me a solid foundation in writing college essays.

Experience

I want to encourage others in any area of education that they may be struggling in. I thoroughly believe that anyone can overcome a complicated subject with enough practice and a secure learning environment. My Qualifications: - Tutored in Chemistry, Geometry, Calculus, Writing, Biology - All 5's on the following AP Tests: Biology, Calc AB, Calc BC, European History, Human Geography, Language, Literature, Psychology, US History - Cumulative 3.85 from the following University Classes: General Biology series, General Chemistry series, Global Development, Global and Urban Ministries, Statistics, International Relations, Microeconomics - Piano experience for 13 years

Hobbies

I am passionate about people, education, composting, and ice cream! International cuisine is my go to when I have the time and money to spend with my buddies. My heart has a place for all students as well as all animals (except for spiders, sadly, although I do appreciate their role in our biosphere). I am currently working with a non-profit called Pilgrim Africa where I am organizing a group of college students to form an alliance against malaria in Eastern Africa, specifically in Uganda. I have four years of experience in swim instructing all ages, from 7 month olds to 77 year olds, and a variety of capabilities, such as those with autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, and language barriers. I am a cheerful, empathetic instructor that understands many of the challenges students face. I am prepared to tackle the problem in a way that emphasizes my student's style of learning.
