Hobbies

I grew up in a suburb in Connecticut, went to college in New York City, graduate school in Massachusetts (Cambridge and Woods Hole), and moved to Seattle for a postdoc in March 2017. In graduate school, I started a seaglass collection. Since I moved to Seattle last year, I have transferred that love of treasure hunting to foraging for mushrooms. I like bike commuting to work along the Burke-Gilman trail and hiking on the weekends. I co-founded a group called Society for Women in Marine Science in Woods Hole and started a chapter in Seattle after I moved here. The group focuses on acknowledging and addressing issues that women and minorities face in marine science.
