Experience
Why I want to be a tutor: I wish to be a tutor largely because of great amount of enthusiasm that I have for science and biology. You will not find a tutor who is more passionate about science or who can project this exuberance to others in the room. This enthusiasm, however, is tempered with a knowledge of what it's like to not enjoy science classes. I struggled through several science classes in high school and it was only after experiencing first hand what it meant to be a scientist in the rainforests of Panama that my love of biology blossomed. That is what I will bring to as a tutor—an enthusiasm and knowledge of biology that is second to none as well as an understanding and sensitivity of what it feels like to struggle with science. I know what it takes to excel at the highest level and if you choose me as a tutor I will help you reach your maximum potential and to become a competitive candidate for college admissions. I can tutor all levels of high school biology and statistics (including AP) as well as ACT/SAT prep. My college background is mostly in organismal and evolutionary biology, but I am also well versed in molecular and cellular biology.
