My name is Shauna McKee and I am a UWSeattle graduate with a major in Math for Teaching. I graduated from North Seattle Community College with an Associates of Science Degree in Computer Science in 2013. I originally attended UCSB in 2009 before moving to Seattle.

Work Math Tutor Dec 2015 - Present Tutor a special needs student from a 3rd grade base in mathematics. Help her achieve her goal of starting in algebra and leave special ed. I also tutor a young boy in algebra who tested two grades levels above his cohort. One On One Learning Tutor Nov 2014 - June 2016 Tutor grades K – 6 in reading in math. Use common core curriculum to establish study skills and broaden understanding in these critical subjects at a Title I company. Title I companies are funded by No Child Left Behind to serve students on a reduced lunch plan. Math Tutor - May 2009 to June 2009 Tutored an individual in Algebra and Trigonometry. Covered four chapters in the span of a month. Taught concepts out of the book. Assigned homework and met with his teacher to discuss material. His teacher took notice of his efforts and his grade rose from an F to a C allowing him to bypass summer school and remain eligible for a CSU (California State University). Volunteering Shoreline Study Zone Volunteer – Nov 2011 to April 2013 I tutored K – 12 students in everything from art to science. I would sit at tables in the library and wait for students to ask me questions. AVID Tutor - Aug 2007 - June 2008 Tutored chemistry to AVID, a college prep class. Addressed questions from groups and individuals. Focused on teamwork and collaboration while broadening their understanding of chemistry. Mentoring 2008 - 2009 Mentored a friend in AP Chemistry and Pre-Calculus. I tutored when he struggled with concepts and offered him study materials. References available upon request
