ExperienceLearning isn't limited to one specific time or place. It is a lifestyle. I've had to apply this theory to my own education and professional work in science. My degree is in Chemistry and General/Statistical Mathematics. My tutoring experience includes Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, and Physics. I can also teach math through abstraction subjects. I've worked in a bacterial genetics lab as well as done work as an outliner for AP books related to US and Comparative Government. I've studied Literature that has focused on post-modern America, British Renaissance, and Poetry. In order to be successful in any field or subject, you must be able to teach it. If you can teach it to someone else, you understand it yourself. Science, for example, is dependent on individual training as information is transferred between generations. Part of why I teach is to make sure I fully know and understand my own subjects of interest. It also gives me a way to contribute within my community. Throughout my teaching experience, I have continually worked to better my own teaching methods and overall skills for studying. While I want my students to be successful in the immediate need that brought them in for tutoring, I want them to know how to learn throughout their life as they approach each new subject or interest.
