I attended school at both Reed College and Northern Arizona University. Over the last two years, I have spent a lot of time teaching Math at Northern Arizona, as well as a couple different local community colleges. Informally, I have been tutoring in the field of Math ever since I was in high school. I understand that Math is often a daunting subject for students and have found that lack of understanding comes a lot of the time from a basic misunderstanding of a larger, underlying foundation. I believe that one of my strengths as a tutor is being able to find out what those base concepts are that students are having trouble with and going back to master that material before we move on to the problems at hand. I am comfortable teaching Math subjects from the middle school level all the way up through Calculus and Statistics. When I am not working as a tutor, I like to spend a lot of my time watching movies, hiking, and playing with my dogs.
