Experience

I have nearly twenty years of experience in tutoring with all subjects and students at every level. I am proficient with arithmetic, writing, and a number of other school courses. Along with coursework, I can aid in studies for college examinations and the LSAT. My law degree from the University of Chicago Law helped me gain the necessary knowledge to train students in LSAT logical reasoning and LSAT reading comprehension. After graduating from the University of Washington and UC Berkeley and attending law school, I knew that academic tutoring was the right career path for me. My tutoring method consists of having students break down large problems into small, manageable tasks. If a student states that they often feel overwhelmed by large problems or that they are not sure where to start on questions and tasks, they are the kind of student that I love to work with.  The "ah-ha" moment is what I live for with my students. Asking the proper questions leads students to the correct answers and methods, whether we are training for standardized tests or working on grammar and mechanics. Aside from tutoring, I like to spend my time doing Sudoku, training for triathlons, and traveling around the country.
