My strengths lie in tutoring different disciplines of chemistry. While I was at the University of Oregon studying polymers and material science, I taught various sections of chemistry to first- and second-year students. I am comfortable tutoring chemistry, organic chemistry, and physical chemistry. I earned my bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of West Florida. Because chemistry requires a strong foundation in math, I am capable of tutoring math at a variety of levels, from basic math skills at the elementary school level to high school-level pre-calculus. Math and chemistry are complex subjects. Because I am personable, I am able to keep my students engaged during our sessions. I also work with my students on their study and organization skills. These skills really help the student to retain the concepts we cover.In addition to my chemistry and math tutoring and teaching experiences, I have also helped students prepare for the SAT. In particular, I have helped students with the critical reading, writing, and math portions of the SAT. I can also help students prepare the PSAT and the ACT.When I am not tutoring, I enjoy checking out the Seattle music scene.
