Experience
I attended UT Austin for my bachelor's degree in math. I have six years of tutoring experience, I've worked with students from the high school level to non-traditional college students. I've also worked with students at all levels, including those who already excel in math and those who have learning disabilities. I believe my favorite topic to tutor is calculus because it applies in so many fields, but I enjoy helping students learn more foundational math topics as well, including geometry, algebra, statistics, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and others. When I work with students, I have a very laid-back style, but also help my students develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and I focus on helping students develop a solid understanding of each topic we study. I enjoy relating abstract concepts in math to real world applications, and I also have utilized math in my own research into string theory, physics, economics, astronomy, and others. I found that explaining why a math topic is important helps students feel more motivated to learn it. In addition to math topics, I can tutor students in physics and chemistry. I also can help students prepare for admissions exams like the SAT, SSAT, ISEE, HSPT, and others. Outside of education, I enjoy reading, chess, and music. I look forward to helping you reach your goals.
