Experience
I've taught college for five years, teaching courses in French, Spanish, English, and English composition. I've also had the opportunity to teach at a English at the high school level in France, while also tutoring students in Spanish and writing. I just completed my doctoral degree from UC - Irvine in comparative literature. I attended UW - Madison for my bachelor's degree in history, comparative literature, and European studies. As a college student, I had the opportunity to spend a year in Spain. When I work with students, I want to help students become more curious about the subject, and I show them how learning whatever we're studying provides them with new opportunities. I enjoy seeing students develop their voice and bring out their own creativity as writers. I also enjoy seeing students make progress in learning languages. Whenever I have the time I try to travel. I've worked in France, studied in Spain, and I spent part of my life growing up in Costa Rica. I've also visited Panama, Portugal, and Mexico. When I have free time, I like to go for hikes, try to cook new things, watch soccer, read, and spend time with family and friends, as well as my pets.
