EducationUniversity of Washington - BS, General Biology
ExperienceI was the lead biology tutor at Seattle Central Community College. Working with diverse people, I found a love for sharing and communicating about science to anyone. At the University of Washington, I completed my B.S. in Biology and continued as a tutor-mentor for those struggling in science and health sciences. I provided academic/psychosocial support and now tutor chemistry, organic/inorganic chemistry, anatomy, biology, physiology, and elementary and middle school math. In college, I attended professor and faculty led seminars that helped develop my tutoring skills and apply various theories and techniques. My studies have enabled me to understand how tough it can be to master science courses and the critical thinking required. For me, any question goes and it takes collaboration to learn science. Carl Sagan once said, "Science is a way of thinking much more than it is a body of knowledge." Living in Seattle, I enjoy reading, knitting, swimming, and watching soccer in my time off.
