Experience
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Economics from Cornell University, and am now pursuing an applied math master's at University of Washington. I began tutoring in high school in many subjects, with a focus on mathematics. Many of my family members were teachers and I grew up under the tutelage of a wide variety of teaching styles and learned the good and bad of each of them. I am especially adept at tutoring all levels of undergrad math and statistics coursework, as well as various chemistry and physics courses from introductory level to Advanced Placement. I am an active proponent of teaching not only the mechanics, but the intrinsic and beautiful aspects of science and how it relates to our lives in so many ways. I always try to ensure students learn much more than simply the ingredients of subject matter, but also the meaning behind it. I also always try to stress to my students the importance of recognizing the overall concept of a subject or problem, rather than focus only on memorization of the solutions. Outside of class, I enjoy cooking, cycling around the city, being out in nature, and exploring the inner workings of computers.
