Experience
I am currently living in Seattle, Washington. I am able to tutor students in various math and science subjects, including physics, chemistry, elementary and middle school math, algebra 1-4, calculus 1-3, multivariable calculus, and trigonometry. Even though I like tutoring students in these different areas, I am drawn to teaching physics because in some instances the subject can be easy and at other times it is also challenging for students. I think that, for students, most tutoring sessions are a trek from a place of confusion to one of enlightenment or knowledge. When tutoring physics, my approach is to use tangible problems or examples in order to help students understand both the basic concepts and the formulas needed to solve problems. However, I emphasize that students should not rely solely on memorization of formulas. I have an easy-going personality, and I try to pass onto students my great enthusiasm for the subjects that I teach. I attended Purdue University and earned a degree in agricultural engineering. As a student at this institution, I gained teaching and tutoring experience by working as a TA and physics tutor. In my spare time, I enjoy sports and am a Bears fan. I also like to play video games and go for hikes.
