Experience
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's degree in Art History. I then attended Illinois State University to earn my master's in Visual Culture. I have served as an ESL teacher in South Korea, where I worked with students ranging from elementary schoolers to high schoolers. I've also served as a teaching assistant and tutor, so I bring a wide range of experiences to my tutoring sessions. I can tutor many different subjects, including ESL/ELL, reading, writing, literature, social studies, and art history. I am also fond of assisting students with standardized test prep for the ACT, GRE, and TOEFL. I like to get to know my students' academic goals, challenges, and preferred learning styles in order to tailor a custom learning plan for each student. I encourage my students to develop strong study skills and critical thinking skills in order to become more versatile, creative, and receptive learners. As a tutor, I am patient, supportive, empathetic, and flexible. I am a passionate teacher and tutor, and I enjoy sharing my love of learning with all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, knitting, running, and spending time outdoors with my dog.
