Education
I received my B.S. in Elementary Education from Baylor University in May of 2017 and I graduated Magna Cum Laude. I am now a 5th grade teacher at a private school in Capitol Hill. I have my EC-6 Texas Teaching License with my ESL Supplemental Certification. I am also currently working towards my Masters in Education with an emphasis on Gifted Instruction.
Experience
I currently teach 5th grade where I work with a diverse student population to plan creative and fun lessons that are differentiated for each student. I spent the 2016-2017 school year student teaching in a 3rd grade gifted & talented ESL classroom. From 2015-2016 I student taught in a fourth grade classroom and a kindergarten classroom. I currently tutor elementary students in Seattle, WA and I have tutored elementary school students during my time in high school through Catholic Community Services. I also tutored middle and high school students as a member of National Honor Society during my last two years of high school. I have participated in both AP and IB programs in high school and graduated in the top 10% of Washington State. I want to be a tutor because as a teacher I know how much quality one on one time with a teacher can help to build a student's confidence level. I have taken a number of teacher education courses that have allowed me to learn methods of teaching that will be useful as a tutor.
