High-stress levels can be the agonizing result of standardized testing for many of today's students as they become overwhelmed by the vast knowledge required to succeed in passing the testing requirements. However, the stresses of the standardized test can be alleviated with some well-thought planning and preparation that will help the student feel at ease while improving the test-taking experience. While attending the University of Washington, as a test date was fast approaching, I often found myself feeling anxious and stressed over the multitude of tests I had to endure while pursuing my bachelor's degree. Looking at the problems of testing as a puzzle to be solved, I carefully evaluated the problems associated with testing and developed solutions and techniques that contributed to my testing success. As excited as I was to develop strategies to successful test-taking for my own benefit, I felt the urge to share this information with other students faced with the anxiety and stress of test taking. By sharing my methods of test preparation, stress reduction strategies, and identification of the testing process with my students, I help them attack the testing experience with confidence that they are prepared for the various testing problems they may encounter.
