Private tutor in Seattle, WA
Education
University of Washington-Seattle Campus - BS, Applied Computational Math Sciences
Experience
I attended the University of Washington for my computational math sciences degree. My focus was engineering and science. After college, I worked for Teach for America, ending up in Arkansas teaching high school level physics and chemistry. I enjoy teaching science, but my favorite subject is math. I believe math is a foundational topic for the sciences, and if I can help students develop strong math skills, they are more likely to be successful in science and math classes in the future. I believe successful learning is about building study skills as opposed to rote memorization, and being able to apply your knowledge becomes more important as subjects build on each other sequentially. In addition to math and science topics, I can also help students prepare for standardized tests like the ACT, SAT, and others. When I have free time, I like to visit coffee shops, ride my bike, go to the park, play Frisbee, and read.
