Private tutor in Seattle, WA
University of Washington-Seattle Campus - BA, English , University of California - Irvine - MFA, English
After receiving my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington, I enrolled in a master's program at the University of California, Irvine, and received my MFA. Since then, I've been actively working in education, where I've helped college-level students improve their English, reading, and writing skills. Not only do I have more than 25 years of experience as a college lecturer, I've also worked overseas as an ESL instructor. At the moment, I am working as a teacher for the University of Phoenix, where I teach humanities courses to students in the distance learning program. Throughout my career as a teacher and private tutor, I've had the privilege of helping students improve their communication skills, learn how to write compelling persuasive essays, and learn how to speak English like a native speaker. I love working one-on-one with students because it gives me the opportunity to take a hands-on approach, where I can really focus on helping them overcome their weaknesses. I believe that everyone has the potential to do great things in the classroom as long as they have a good teacher whose patient and invested in their success. Along with English literature, I also like writing stories, taking long walks with my dog, and practicing yoga.
