Private tutor in Seattle, WA
Western Washington University - BA, History , University of Washington - Masters in Teaching, Education
My passions as an educator lie with English as a Second Language, or ESL, and social studies. I graduated from Western Washington University with a bachelor in arts history, as well as a certification as a secondary teacher. I earned my masters in teaching at the University of Washington. Through my graduate program, I spent a year in Tokyo educating students in ESL. The experience allowed me to enjoy a whole new culture while providing education. I worked in classrooms as a teacher's assistant and as a tutor for one-on-one sessions. I have experience in tutoring a wide range of subjects, including grammar and syntax, AP United States history, college-level English, and world religions. My deepest passion as a tutor is ESL. I find it to be a very exciting reward, seeing students improve their skills over time into a skill invaluable to future success. I aim to offer a positive environment, where students can learn at their natural pace through their unique learning style. Building a connection with each student yields fantastic educational results, regardless of their personal style and needs. During my downtime, I love taking off to the beach for a swim. I also enjoy reading and learning all about history.
