Hi! I graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor's in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics, and followed up with a Master's in Microbiology at SF State University. After graduating from UCLA I worked in a biotech company where I was involved in the genetics sequencing, starting from extracted DNA and working through various techniques to get the final genetic sequence of organisms. While pursuing my Masters at SFSU, I conducted my Masters thesis research on induced pluripotent stem cells at Stanford University. I recently moved to Seattle to work with a company focusing on researching the molecular pathways of the innate immune system. In addition to college, working in biotech and academia, i've been tutoring high school math and science courses for over ten years. I have privately tutored these subjects as well as taught preview classes over the summer, supplemental classes during the school year, and preparatory classes for SATs and APs. I focus on ensuring that students understand the fundamentals so they can apply their knowledge to problems they see on homework, quizzes, and tests. Practice is key to improving speed and understanding. To help this, I supplement sessions with worksheets and practice tests to help the student better prepare for upcoming quizzes and exams. Once students are more comfortable, I encourage them to teach me or their family members the material they have learned. Teaching helps both me and the students understand what weak points we need to strengthen.
