Experience
I excelled in many science/math related courses throughout my high school and college careers. I tutored peers throughout my life (especially with chemistry!). I started tutoring friends in college just because I liked the subjects so much, and it always feels nice to help someone, but that turned into helping more and more "friends of friends" with basic college science courses. I currently teach and facilitate various environmental topics for high school "green teams" and "environmental clubs." I've recently discovered that I LOVE teaching others about science and the natural world. Facilitating and leading outdoor learning experiences is the most fun and fulfilling way to work or volunteer. I love helping someone connect the hard sciences to what is happening all around them in the natural world. I'd like to have more experience with tutoring and teaching to turn this into a career! I love working with outdoor education programs, but I'm considering a career in the classroom, so the more experience, the better!
