I am a graduate of Earlham College in Indiana, where I earned my B.A. in biology with a focus on ecology and evolutionary biology. I was also very interested in and attended many courses in microbiology. I have had experience tutoring and as a teaching assistant in life sciences, microbiology, biology, ecology, and environmental science. I am also able to tutor college essay writing, literature, PSAT critical reading, PSAT writing skills, SAT subject tests in biology, English, and mathematics. I believe in an individual learning style and building upon this to create an individualized learning plan that will result in a fun experience and success! I know that the same style will not be effective for all students and that some courses are more difficult for others. I am especially fond of the biological sciences and realize that some people may not share my enthusiasm. Biology is an amazing and inspirational field of study, and I believe I can make it fun and interesting for anyone. While not tutoring, I love to care for a collection of houseplants. I also read and love to cook, sing, and go bird watching. I currently reside in Bainbridge Island, Washington.
