Experience
I PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from University of Washington and I am an expert in biochemistry and chemistry. I really enjoy working with students from high school to undergraduate level, or even graduate level (including pharmacy school or medical school chemistry). I'm deeply passionate about tutoring and education! Currently I'm an organic chemistry instructor at Edmonds Community College. Previously, I've taught high school chemistry at the Northwest School, and I have subbed at Lakeside for several years. I care most about making any subject matter as approachable as possible and breaking difficult concepts down into simple pieces. That way, students can begin to understand challenging material and gain self-confidence in the material. I also emphasize critical thinking and pattern recognition versus memorization. If students can reason their way through problems and recognize the basic patterns of materials, students can tackle most any problem that they are faced with.
