Experience
Experiences: Educator: Junior High, Senior High and University of Washington Department of Urban Planning (also Assistant Graduate Program Advisor). I also have experience home schooling my son and working with other children with similar needs. Those needs included Dyxlexia, Dysgraphia, Scotopic Syndrome and what today would have been identified as Asbergers Syndrome. This area is very interesting to me as so many wonderful brains are given up on either due to refusal to admit there is an issue or to the inability to afford help getting the resources to achieve amazing results. There are too many intelligent students tossed because they present a challenge. My job has always involved finding the motivation and making sure the challenging work is there for such students. There are more of these students than we even know.

Hobbies
I enjoy getting to know my students so that I understand their favorite subjects, motivations, fears, strengths and weaknesses. I am also willing to be open about my own issues as a student over the years and how they often were the basis of my pushing forward rather than following behind. We need to learn and we must be allowed to make the mistakes that come with perfecting our knowledge. I am there to help and not to belittle or reprimand. My job is to have the student see the errors, figure out why they happen, and adjust accordingly to move farther and more accurately as again proceed in their studies. Most important, students no matter their age are people too. They deserve that level of respect when we work together.
