Hello, my name is David and I am located in Seattle, Washington. I earned my bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon Marine Biology Institute. I have considerable tutoring experience in a variety of subjects. I was able to live abroad in Spanish-speaking countries for a year of my undergraduate career. This both allowed me to improve my Spanish and gave me an opportunity to tutor English as a Second Language students. When I have free time, you may find me pursuing one of my interests, including playing music and enjoying the outdoors through trail running, backpacking, or snowboarding.I am familiar with how daunting standardized tests can be, and I believe I have learned how to help other students manage their preparation. I find it helpful to make connections between things familiar to the student and the concepts they are trying to grasp. Connecting the student with the subject matter in this way can help make intimidating subjects more accessible. My favorite subjects to tutor include Spanish, life sciences, mathematics, and SAT/GRE preparation. I am available to tutor students of all ages in a wide variety of subject areas including chemistry, biology, statistics, grammar and mechanics, social studies, molecular biology, and Latin American history.
