Private tutor in Seattle, WA
University of Washington-Seattle Campus - BS, Biology major, Chinese minor
I graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor's degree in Biology, minoring in Dance and Mandarin Chinese. I have found that my studies have afforded me some fascinating experiences, such as participating in an international TV competition in Mandarin and helping to rehabilitate sea turtles in China. I have used my interest in biology to work on a study here of crows and their human facial recognition ability, and also to research endangered dolphins and monkeys while in China. I provide encouragement to the students I tutor, helping them gain confidence in their ability to succeed in their chosen field. I do this by determining their style of learning and tailoring my teaching to meet their needs. I am available to tutor a number of different courses, including ESL/ELL, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, Essay Editing, College Essays, AP Chinese Language and Culture, Environmental Science, Life Sciences, and Ecology, among others. When I'm not teaching, I like to read, write, dance, and travel. I love the outdoors, and enjoy hiking and sailing.
