Seattle University Graduate ('13) with a B.A. in Spanish and a minor in English, currently studying remotely for a certificate in translation from NYU.
Experience
As I transition into more "professional" language services (translation/editing work, etc.), tutoring is a great way for me to stay in touch with my past in education and my love of working with children and teens. While normally I've opted to work in public education since graduation a few years ago, this fall will be dedicated to furthering my studies in translation and has left me with a free schedule to get back into tutoring my favorite subject. Experience/Qualifications -Studied at the University of Granada -DELE level C2 (Cervantes Institute test of Spanish Proficiency, highest level) -One year experience teaching English in Japan (1st-9th grade) -One year of experience with University Tutors for Seattle Schools working at Cleveland High in a language arts classroom and at the after school program (CASH) -Past Outdoor Educator at YMCA Camp Orkila (Bike Touring) -Currently works teaching public health workshops in indigenous communities surrounding Oaxaca, Mexico.
