Hello! I'm Laurel, a Seattle native who This past year I have been living and teaching through a joint program between the U.S. and French government. I lived in Saint Etienne, France (45 minutes from Lyon) and spent my year divided between teaching English in a French high school and to private clients. I lived with French roommates, followed the Saint Etienne soccer team, and ate too much cheese. My other French experience has come through my two 6-month experiences abroad, first in Besancon, France then in Dakar, Senegal. In Besancon, I joined my French peers at the age of 16 to complete half of my junior year integrated into the French life, including living with a host family. In Dakar, I spend my college junior year abroad, also living with a host family and completing a journalism internship at the largest Senegalese newspaper. Now that I'm home, I enjoy riding my bicycle to work, reading, speaking French to my friends abroad and dancing! Looking forward to meeting you :)
