Experience
Peer tutoring for college level Ecology, Cell Biology, and Plant and Animal Physiology. SAT: 2010 AP: US History: 5, Language and Composition: 5, Literature: 5, Calculus: 3. I love learning about science and one of the best ways to learn is to teach. I had no idea that I had a strong interest in science until i went to college, and I wish i had explored biology and chemistry more before I began my undergraduate career. I've had great experiences facilitating study sessions, and have learned a lot from my colleagues, and would love to pass this experience on to others. I've also worked in a BSL-2 environmental health laboratory doing bacterial and viral pathogen surveillance. This included sample collection and processing, media preparation, conducting viral RNA extraction and Q-PCR, literature review, and analyzing results. I think this hands on experience enhances my ability to fully explain abstract scientific principles in a tangible way.
