Education

This fall I will begin my fourth and final year at the University of Washington, in order to complete by BA in Linguistics. Within linguistics, I focus on sociolinguistics, semantics and bilingualism. I have participated in two study abroad, Spain and Portugal, and am now fluent in both languages!

Experience

As an older sister, I've tutored my younger brother his entire schooling career. Professionally, I've assisted in ESL classrooms at the University of Washington as well as taught in a Jumpstart! classroom in Shoreline. I want to be a tutor to help kids reach their full potential! From experience, I know students of all ages connect to someone who isn't a teacher or parent. It takes a mentor to push a student to succeed in a way they might not even be aware of.

Hobbies

OUtside of school, I'm a huge outdoors person. I grew up in a kayak on white water rapids on the White Salmon and gradually grew up to be able to fasten on my own hiking boots. I love hiking, camping, climbing, running, kayaking, snowboarding, and anything on the water. During my entire life I have been an avid swimmer, mostly in the pool but also in open water competitions. I love spending time with my younger brother and step sister and taking them out around Seattle when they visit.
