Experience
For more than five years, I have tutored students across a range of subject matter, with a focus in Chemistry and Biology. During my undergraduate studies at Seattle Pacific University, I tutored Chemistry at the college level and served as a Teaching Assistant in Microbiology. At the same time, I helped junior high school students with their homework. This experience affirmed my love of teaching students at all levels how to access their potential and achieve academic success. I have also worked with students preparing for standardized tests, including the MCAT and the International Baccalaureate subject tests. Although my focus is in the sciences, I have taken the MCAT myself and am equipped to prepare students for the Verbal Reasoning section as well. My belief in the importance and empowering effect of education continues as I pursue my medical degree at the University of Washington. Regardless of the subject matter or age/academic level of the student, my goal is the same: to provide the tools and confidence necessary for success in the course, on the test or in any other context. When I'm not teaching, tutoring, or attending school, I like to dance, explore unfamiliar areas of the city, volunteer in my community, and cook. I'm also a big fan of coffee.
