Private tutor in Seattle, WA
University of WA, Molecular Biology, B.S.
If you need an energetic, compassionate tutor than I'm the girl for you. My experience with tutoring stems from many different opportunities from volunteering in school to tutor younger students to being a teaching assistant at the University of WA. I have tutored elementary-level students in reading and writing and middle- and high- school students in algebra. I'm very patient, but also aim for results. I'm used to working with different education styles and learned a lot about working with ADHD students from my own experience with ADHD. At the college level, I have a lot of experience working with international students that need help writing papers and understanding English grammar. Also as a graduate in Molecular Biology with several years of research experience, I have a strong background in science and can help students understand primary research articles and explain different molecular techniques. My diverse experience has allowed me to develop tutoring skills outside of conventional teaching styles. I definitely cater tutoring sessions to the student. An initial session would involve setting goals and learning about the student's learning style.

I really enjoy science and am hoping for a full-time research position in the near future. In my free time, I enjoy exercise and meditation as well as socializing with my friends and hanging out with my cat.
