Experience

I graduated from the University of Utah with a Master's degree in Latin American Studies in May of 2016. Before that, I graduated from Seattle University in June of 2010 with degrees in Spanish and Political Science. I have been tutoring for 10 years and I love it. I began tutoring in High School for a small private company called Project Education. I tutored students in Biology, Spanish, Geometry, Trigonometry, and English (Writing). When I came to college I started doing private language tutoring in Spanish and English, primarily to check assignments, homework and act as a conversation partner. I really enjoy tutoring and practicing language skills with people because it's interesting and fun. Being able to watch a person learn and improve their skills is very satisfying for me and I have always liked tutoring. I have taken classes in Spanish since I was 12 years old and since my graduation, I have continued to practice my skills as a volunteer for the King County Bar Association's Bilingual Spanish Immigration Clinic. During my time at Seattle University I also participated in the Core Honors English program so I feel that I can confidently offer assistance to students seeking to improve their English language skills.

Hobbies

I like learning and practicing languages, traveling, playing video games, reading, listening to music, watching or playing rugby, football, soccer, frisby, basketball, and baseball. I feel especially lucky whenever I get an opportunity to use my language skills or help someone develop their own. I genuinely enjoy learning and helping others to learn because I believe that education is important and knowledge should be shared. In addition to that, I think one of the best parts about tutoring is helping people understand how they learn best so they can excel and feel confident in their ability to succeed academically.
