Education

3 years working for the UK Meteorological Office as an Applied Scientist (Physics, Meteorology, Environmental Science) ESL certification Msc Physics (Condensed Matter Theory) at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. BA (mod) Theoretical Physics at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. 1st Class Honours

Experience

Here's a few things to help build a picture of me: I taught the Grade 9 and Grade 10 Math syllabus at an IB school in Istanbul for the past 2 years. I've tutored High School and University students while I was living in Ireland. (3 years at University Level Physics) I am tutoring because I've just arrived to the US with my wife, and I don't immediately want to begin teaching in a classroom (I'm also applying to get my WA teaching certification). I've enjoyed tutoring in the past, I enjoy encouraging people, I've found I have a talent for inspiring my students, I'm outgoing and tend to get on well with people. I'm patient, I'm happy to go over problems again and again, to explain in different ways. I persevere, I don't give up my students easily at all (even if they want me too...). I like being well-prepared and I'm confident I can teach anything Math or Physics related if I'm given advanced notice as to what the topic is (High School should be fine, but University stuff I just need to refresh my memory a little). Some things I put on my resume usually (but would never mention otherwise): My peer review paper from my Masters http://journals.aps.org/prb/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevB.79.085120 A list of academic achievements while at university: An IRCSET scholarship (2005) - The status of a Trinity College Dublin Scholar (2002): this award comprises five years of free college fees, free evening meals on a weekly basis and free accommodation on campus for that period, and a yearly stipend. - The Walton prize for Physics in my first undergraduate year, having achieved the highest overall Physics mark across the entire Science Faculty. (2000) - The Townsend prize for Mathematics in my first undergraduate year (2000) - The Arthur Lyster prize for Mathematics for two consecutive years in my second and third undergraduate years (2002, 2003)
