Private tutor in Seattle, WA

Education

I graduated from Seattle University in 2011 magna cum laude. I have my BS in mathematics, pure specialization and was awarded the Seattle University Mirbagheri-Yandl Award for excellence in mathematics. Although I was a math major, I plan on attending medical school in the future, so I've taken many science classes in addition to my math courses.

Experience

I have been working as a tutor for over four years in the Seattle area. I was a tutor in the Seattle University Math Lab helping students with classes ranging from Algebra up through Calculus. I have an in-depth understanding of high school and college level mathematics, particularly Calculus and Statistics. I have applied my skills as a statistical consultant on several projects for individuals and organizations. As a high school student, I took the AP Calculus exams, scoring a 5 on BC and a sub-score of 5 on the AB portion. I've also been involved with several science departments at Seattle U. I've completed both General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry, along with Biology and Physics. I spent two years working in an organic chemistry research group with one of the professors at Seattle U. My current position is in a biology lab so I'm very much up to date on my science material as I apply the concepts daily.

Hobbies

I'm originally from Boise, Idaho, but I moved to Seattle six years ago to come to Seattle U. I am currently working in a research lab at UW Medicine. Outside of work, I play a lot of soccer and like to hike and surf, even in chilly WA water! My favorite colors are yellow and turquoise (I'm obsessed with turquoise jewelry) and I love to travel. I spent the fall of my senior year in Copenhagen, Denmark where I had the opportunity to explore human health and disease along with medical practice and policy. Jeg elsker Danmark!
