I have worked with all age levels and in a number of settings over the course of my teaching career. I have worked with elementary school students, high school students, and adults in group settings and one-on-one sessions. I have also worked in a number of different settings, including local and state health departments, state colleges, school districts, community organizations, and health systems. I currently volunteer my time with several non-profit and professional organizations working for equity and social justice within the U.S. health system.I have taught a wide range of subjects over the course of my career, including physiology, anatomy, Spanish and English interpretation, strategic planning, statistics, hygiene and wellness care, and nutrition. I am a 2014 graduate of the Great Plains Public Health Leadership Institute at the University of Nebraska, School of Public Health.Prior to coming to the United States, I lived in South America and practiced medicine for 19 years. In my free time, I like dancing, hiking, music, and travelling.
