Education
Graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Speech pathology and a k-8 teaching Certificate 1987. I Have taken classes and tested to be qualified to teach middle level math.
Experience
I have taught kindergarten and first grade classes in private school settings, as well as middle school math intervention in Seattle public schools. I have been working with youth for over 25 years in many categories. I have tutored many youth 3rd -8th grade helping to solidify their confidence in their knowledge and practice of math. I like the opportunity to tutor math, working with students to discover their own capabilities, teaching them to work through their issues in math and discover that they can figure out and solve problems. I am very familiar with the progression of math through the grade levels and know where kids tend to get stuck. I have many creative approaches to give students a fresh look at math, from a logical point of view.
