I am a native Japanese speaker and I found that teaching Japanese is something that I love! At Columbia University and in teaching afterwards, I learned what is important for learning a foreign language (e.g., the importance of context, learners' needs, the condition of the learning situation). While at Columbia I studied with visiting professors from Princeton University, the University of Washington, Harvard University, and others. I taught Japanese in Tokyo for two years at a Japanese language school and while teaching there I found that learning language has to be interesting and something you can enjoy. Then the learner can continue to study to reach his or her goal. When you study Japanese with me, you can use a textbook or I can tailor your lesson to your needs. Let's have fun!
