I have been studying Spanish since I was four years old, and took it 12 years after that. My comprehension is very good and I have an easier time than most interpreting and helping people who are first learning Spanish:) I never took it in college, but for my whole young life I took it in every school I went to.
Experience
For two months this past year, I traveled around Nicaragua, teaching English to many interested locals, and helping translate English to Spanish for tourists coming through the country. Also, growing up in the house my mom and dad would speak Spanish to me and get me tutors to ensure that I because fluent. I want to be able to help people learn this language, because I think it is an excellent and beautiful language filled with so much history, culture and wonderful people. I know having this language will be of such great help in many aspects of life such as traveling, translating, meeting different kinds of people...the list could go on! I have spent many years(starting in my pre-teens) helping out young kids learn various subjects that they are learning in school, and I have greatly enjoyed it. I think a one on one tutor experience is very effective, especially when learning a language or subject that one is not very familiar with. I want to be able to be there to help break that barrier in a calm and fun way!
